Wild Goose

Wild Goose were formed in 2012 specifically to play the new evening session at Widecombe Fair, which is famously held every September on Dartmoor. We all enjoyed it so much we thought we'd make a regular fixture of playing together. Since then Wild Goose have gone from strength to strength and now have an eclectic repotoire of blues, folk and our own original songs, all played using acoustic instruments.

We play music from a wide variety of sources and genres, from Bob Dylan to Bryan Adams, Pink Floyd to Kenny Rogers. Our sets are constantly changing as we discover or re-interpret old songs, we hate to get bored. If you know a song you think we might suit, let us know!

There are not really any good recordings of Wild Goose available, but a live concert was recorded for SoundArt Radio and broadcast in July 2014. It was a good show, a warm summer evening on Dartmoor, a full hall (full of people avoiding the football I think, it was the world cup on TV that evening) and a great atmosphere. Skylark played a beautiful set of Applachian and Swedish tunes, Sam Richards treated us all to some of his huge collection of local folk songs sung a capella, and we wrapped up the evening with our usual mix of folk and blues. You can find some of the songs from it on my Soundcloud page, and some excerpts here:
