Lyrics

City Skies

The Torn Days of Winter

Swallows

Gone Away

'Till I Get Home

Better Days

The Winter of '85

White Horses

Lost Sight of the Way

The Winter of '85

words and music: John Lambert

it was the winter of '85
and I was standing on the corner of the street
trying hard to stay a little warm
and thinking thoughts
thoughts of the summer

when along the street
a man came walking
a memory out of the past
it must have been five odd years
since i had seen him last

don't you remember
it'll hurt you when you do
the past seems somehow sweeter
the memories too few

so i crossed the street
and i shook his hand
and said hey its been a long time
and he asked me how i'd been
and i lied
i said i'd been fine

i said
meeting you here
hey it takes me back
to the summer
the summer of '79
when i lost things
that i thought were forever mine

don't you remember
it'll hurt you when you do
the past seems somehow sweeter
the memories too few
